The rear main seal on the 911 race car let go during the early practice sessions this morning at Circuit of the Americas. With no way to do the replacement in the paddock, we drove the 233 miles all the way back to the shop for some last-minute heroics. Nate and Rick are at it at this very moment, but if anyone can do it in time to hit the road back to Austin and make the start, it’s them. After only 25 min., the motor and tranny are out and they’re digging in.
Stay tuned…
**UPDATE
Down but not out!
1 hour and 18 minutes after pulling in, the 911 is all buttoned up and on it’s way back to COTA! Rick has worked his magic once again so we’ll see you at the races!
