Everyday is a busy day here at Fifth Gear

Today is no different. We love what we do but we’d be lying if we said we weren’t looking forward to the long weekend! Here’s a glance around the shop at what everyone is up to as the week draws to a close…

Tim

Iis finishing up a Porsche 911 that came in for “gross evaporative emissions leak” DTC’s (Diagnostic Trouble Codes). He diagnosed and replaced a failed DTML pump and now has the leak tester hooked up to make sure the issue has been corrected.

Ty

Is right in the middle of replacing the failed A/C compressor on a Honda Odyssey.

Cody

Is wrapping up his work on a Jeep Wrangler, having just performed an extensive “Road Trip Check”oil and filter changetire rotation, and complimentary fluid top-off. He’s also about to finish up a high-quality oil and filter change appointment on a Jaguar XKR.

Luis

Is working on an A/C condenser fan replacement on an Audi A4 Quattro that came in when the customer noticed that his air conditioning was “running poorly” while the car was at idle, but seemed to be working just fine when the car was at speed. The cause was the bearing in one of the two A/C fans seized and ruined the fan.

Tyler really has hands full with a Mercedes-Benz CLK500, which came to the shop for a number of repairs and maintenance items, including replacing the motor mountstransmission mount replacement, valve cover resealspark plug replacementoil and filter change, and more. He’s definitely earning his 3-day weekend!

Lastly over in the battery room, Ricky has a Toyota Prius Hybrid battery pack hooked up to our specialized Hybrid Battery equipment as it goes through just one of several stages in the battery reconditioning process.

That’s it for us this week! Have a fantastic weekend everybody, and enjoy the long holiday for the Fourth! We know we will! Is it 6 o’clock, yet?
