By the Fifth Gear Automotive Repair Team | Argyle, TX
At Fifth Gear Automotive Repair, Argyle has always been more than just a pin on a map, it’s a community we’re proud to call home. Last year, when we learned our original Argyle shop would be torn down due to eminent domain, we were faced with one of the biggest challenges in our company’s history. Our answer was simple: we weren’t leaving.
That decision led us to our brand-new facility at 1612 FM 407, Argyle, TX. On April 11, 2025, we opened those doors to the community with an open house that reminded us exactly why we do what we do. The team was there, the neighbors showed up, and for one afternoon, a brand-new auto shop felt like a reunion.
Why Argyle? A Word From Our Director of Business Development
John Miller, Director of Business Development, has been at the center of Fifth Gear’s growth across North Texas, and the Argyle location has always held a special place in that story.
The transition was difficult for our team, but leaving Argyle was never an option. This community has given us so much, and because of that, we’re committed to continuing to provide the same trusted service we’ve always delivered.
— John Miller, Director of Business Development, Fifth Gear Automotive Repair — Argyle
For John, this isn’t just about square footage or a new address. It’s about the relationships that were already there, with customers, with local businesses, with families who depend on having a shop they can trust close to home.
We have deep roots here, and that means everything to us. From building relationships with other local businesses to showing up at community events. Argyle feels like family, and we treat it that way.

Meet the Team: Cory Littlehales, Argyle Shop Manager
If you want to understand what the move from the old 377 location to the new FM 407 facility really felt like, just ask Cory – the shop manager who led the Argyle team through every step of the transition.
Surprised and upset. That’s how we all felt when we first learned we had to move. We loved our little shop on Hwy 377, and so did our customers. It was hard not being in ‘Argyle proper’ and away from the community we’ve been a part of for so long.
— Cory Littlehales, Shop Manager, Fifth Gear Automotive Repair — Argyle
During the transition period, the team shuttled vehicles between a drop-off point in Argyle and Fifth Gear’s Crossroads sister shop. It wasn’t easy, but it was worth it.

Our team has a level of dedication I’ve never seen before. The chemistry between them is incredible – it’s the kind of connection you can’t teach. They’re hungry, humble, and smart. Every one of them shows up ready to help, whether it’s a coworker in the shop or a customer who needs their car back on the road.
— Cory Littlehales, Shop Manager, Fifth Gear Automotive Repair — Argyle
When open house day arrived and familiar faces started walking through the doors, it hit differently.
Standing in that building during the open house, I felt two things: appreciated and supported. Knowing this community truly wants us here, that means everything to our team.
— Cory Littlehales, Shop Manager, Fifth Gear Automotive Repair — Argyle
For Cory personally, being trusted to lead this new location is something he doesn’t take lightly.
Being trusted to lead this new location means a lot to me. It feels like recognition of all the work and dedication that went into building a top-tier team, one that truly wants to be the shop people want to be at. It’s one of the biggest professional responsibilities of my career.
— Cory Littlehales, Shop Manager, Fifth Gear Automotive Repair — Argyle
From the Floor: Ryan Oor, Shop Foreman
The open house wasn’t just a milestone for leadership, it was a celebration for the whole team. Ryan Oor, the Argyle shop foreman, captured it best.
It was an incredible experience. Seeing the community there to celebrate this new chapter for our team was truly beautiful. The best part was celebrating with my teammates, it was a journey we shared together, and that we are proud of. We are excited more than ever to continue the work now that we are home.
— Ryan Oor, Shop Foreman, Fifth Gear Automotive Repair — Argyle

The Ribbon Cutting: A Word From Co-Owner Bill Bernick
The ribbon cutting with the Argyle Business Association made it official, but for Co-Owner Bill Bernick, the moment carried a weight that went well beyond a ceremony.

Fifth Gear has been built on the belief that business and family are not separate things. They are the same thing. Being here to cut this ribbon, surrounded by the team, the community, and the people who made this all possible, is exactly what we set out to build.
But this building means something even more personal to our family. The new Argyle facility has been dedicated in loving memory of Patrick Michael Bernick. The plaque on the building reads: “Though Patrick’s life was brief, his presence brought endless love and light. This building stands in his memory — a place of hope, compassion, and total strength. Forever cherished. Forever remembered.”

We are honored to carry his memory forward in a place that stands for the same things he represented: love, community, and strength.
Looking Ahead: Ricky Jordan, President
Ricky Jordan has led Fifth Gear through growth, adversity, and everything in between. Losing the original Argyle location was one of the hardest chapters, but what came next tells the real story.
Losing our location on 377 was one of the most difficult challenges we’ve ever faced as a company. But to end up where we did — in a brand-new facility, with this team, in this community — that’s one of the things I’m most proud of.
— Ricky Jordan, President, Fifth Gear Automotive Repair
For Ricky, the commitment to Argyle was never in question.
We are committed to providing exceptional service to the people of Argyle. No matter what, we were staying in Argyle. We love it there.
— Ricky Jordan, President, Fifth Gear Automotive Repair
When he walked through the new facility on open house day, one thing stood out above everything else.
How hard our business development team works, and how good they are at what they do.
— Ricky Jordan, President, Fifth Gear Automotive Repair
And when asked what it means to watch Fifth Gear keep growing while staying true to its roots?
It’s why I do this. It’s what I’m most proud of.
