Face-palm, indeed.

“Why is my car overheating?”

Firstly, a car overheating simply means that the engine temperature is exceeding what’s called it’s “normal operating temperature.” Like measuring temperature, the severity of the problem is a matter of degree but, one thing is certain: if left unchecked, overheating is one of the quickest ways to do significant damage to a vehicle’s engine and vital components.

There are many potential causes of overheating, from simply not having enough coolant in the system to a malfunctioning thermostat. If you notice that your vehicle’s temperature gauge is beginning to creep a little higher than usual, the best thing to do is pull over to a safe location and turn the car off long enough to allow everything to cool back down to the ambient temperature. Secondly, it’s important to have the source of the problem diagnosed and repaired by a trained certified auto technician.

If you’re having trouble with an overheating car (or anything else, for that matter!) don’t hesitate to give us a call. Our trained and certified technicians will be able to diagnose and repair any overheating issue and get you back on the road.
